The Best Homemade Carpet Cleaning Solution for Machines - A Guide to DIY Carpet Cleaning

Have you ever wanted to make your own homemade carpet cleaner for machines? Renting a carpet cleaning machine from a hardware store or pet store and doing a deep cleaning every 6 to 12 months is a great way to keep your carpets looking their best. But if you're looking for a more cost-effective solution, you can make your own homemade carpet cleaner with everyday items from your kitchen cupboard. For most stains, you can mix the following solution and watch it work its magic before your eyes: add two ounces of white vinegar to a gallon of almost full warm water. This DIY carpet cleaner literally costs pennies and is quite effective (although it may take a little effort to do so).

If you know exactly what stain you're working with, check out my guide to carpet stain removers for tips on how to deal with things like urine, blood, juices, and more. It's important to act quickly to eliminate spills before they build up. If you have a particularly stubborn stain, you may need to look for a professional cleaner to remove it. But for everyday messes, this homemade solution should do the trick. To use it, fill the container of the carpet cleaning machine to the filling line with warm water and add two ounces of the homemade solution.

Then use the machine to clean up dirt, odor, and spills the same way you would use a commercial carpet shampoo. For an extra boost of freshness, add two tablespoons of fabric softener to the solution. The fabric softener will add a lovely scent to the carpet while soothing the fibers, creating a better result. You should clean a carpet immediately after a spill or stain, and whenever it has a musty smell or is visibly dirty. This formula was created by my incredible sister, who tested 26% of the products on her carpets and created this recipe. I have also found on the Internet a cleaner with pure, unscented oxygen. There is something really nice about being able to leave your house and come back to see that your carpets have been miraculously cleaned.

With this homemade carpet cleaning solution, you can clean up small spills and stains quickly and easily. So don't wait until your carpets are in dire need of help - start cleaning them regularly with this simple solution.
